Gerlach makes “Endangered House Republican” list
MALVERN, PA – Cong. Jim Gerlach (R-PA) recently made The Washington Times’ “Endangered House Republican” list. “For the second straight cycle, the three-term incumbent survived by a narrow 50-49 percent margin over Democrat Lois Murphy in this suburban Philadelphia district,” the Times noted in listing Gerlach among the 14 most vulnerable Republican House incumbents.
Bob Roggio (D), a retired businessman and long time resident of Chester County, recently announced his candidacy in the district. He has been aggressively campaigning and has already received the endorsement of the Chester County Democrats.
“Jim Gerlach is endangered because he’s out of step with the 6th district and in step with the Bush Administration,” said Roggio. “We need a congressman committed to a new direction, not the status quo. I offer the kind of leadership needed to change Washington, and bring our country back together.”
